I leave the room for a minute and she starts studying neuroanatomy

I tell you what, this little lady is growing up way too fast. Next thing you know, she'll want to dissect a cadaver.

I can't believe I'm at the end of my first quarter of med school. I couldn't have done it without the support of friends and family. Not to mention the motivation of Mrs. Weasley and Kensley Jean.

One more final exam tomorrow and then a two-week break.

One thing is fo' sho', Kensley's nails know how to grow. It seems like every few days she wakes up with a new battle scar in her face.

One time I went to give her a kiss and she scratched my eyeball with one of her talons. She's vicious.

I've found that the best time to trim back the little beast is when she's sleeping.

Kensley and the Duck

Grandma Russell bought our baby a fun-times plush duck for Christmas. If you push one of its webbed feet, it sings a precious song. If you tickle it, the thing giggles like Elmo.

As an added bonus, if you hold it in front of Kensley's face while it's singing, Kensley will become very distraught.

Tanks, Grandma. Tanks a lot.

I can't believe how much she's grown

Back in November we tried putting Kensley in a pair of pajamas that ended up being a wee bit too big. We tried them on her again tonight and were blown away by the difference. (This time around, she also had a more difficult time holding still for the picture.)

I can't wait till she's 14 and we make her try them on again.
